The Boy in the Striped Pajamas

One son went back to school and two more arrived along with Hayley and Hudson. We are having such a good time. Yesterday we watched a somber movie, one of those that makes us remember and reflect. The Boy in the Striped Pajamas was an incredible film. It was beautifully filmed and rich with symbolism. I recently heard Dr. Jim Belcher in his sermon, Discipleship, wonder what was different about the discipleship of the Christian that lived during Nazi Germany and risked their lives to help versus the rest of Germany who sat by and did nothing. This movie shows the immense conflict that probably went on in homes. It also shows the fear that keeps us from doing the right thing. The movie raises questions like who is really human and who should have control over what our children learn. There is so much more to this film, but if I've teased you into watching it, I've done my job. In the times we live in, with the issues we face, this is a timely film for all of us. This is not a movie to knit through...
